CHAIRPERSON'S MESSAGE

As Chairperson APWA Punjab, I feel that my plan for the benefit of APWA  in different spheres of work has progressed well. I have been able to plug the gap between professionals & nonprofessionals and maintained transparency & merit to bring around success in programs of Health, Education, Empowerment, Awareness Raising & Legal Aid.

I have been flexible in my approach in our outreach programs because social work at grass root level has to be need-based, As a result, we involved communities of Brick kiln workers, transgender and differently able women in various empowerment programs. Our work included inovating International programs with ILO, One UN & IAW.

In 2018, a new Career Women Hostel has been added in Sialkot branch and health centres in Bhawalpur & Rahim Yar Khan. A multi-Purpose center in Ghakar, Dist Gujrat with construction and repair to the tune of Rs. 2,296,482, has been made on different projects.

I want to thank my Executive Commitee for their cooperation and after Gujrat all staff members of APWA Punjab for their untiring efforts to implement my ideas, without which progress would have been impossible. Here, I would also like to appreciate the efforts of Friends of APWA.

APWA Punjab today has the credit of a strong financial position and good relationship with other NGOs, CSO’s, Government Departments, Donors and various International Alliances.

The magnitude of work and the demand and need of grass root level population has increased to an enormous extent and requires work in more districts of Punjab.

Ruhi Sayid, Chairperson
