APWA WOMEN HOSTEL

APWA Punjab working women hostels provide state of the art facilities for working women who come from outside Lahore and would otherwise be unable to continue their jobs as affordable safe living environment is impossible in big cities like Lahore. APWA has established four working women hostels at 65-Jail Road, Lahore, over the last 6– years. Two hostels are called the Gul-e-Ra’ana Hostels, these hostels were inaugurated by Founder and President of APWA Begum Ra’ana Liaqat Ali Khan on 29th October 1970 and completed in 1972. Hostel no 3 is called the Begum Masuda Hamid Hostel, it was established in 1983. Recent addition by APWA Punjab’s own resources is first floor of the Hostel no 4. It has capable staff and newly constructed rooms and lounges. Students from various colleges and working women from different cities prefer living in APWA hostel. MNA and Senior Vice Chairperson Apwa Punjab Ms. Shakeela Khanum Rashid built the ground floor of the hostel in 2010. Ms. Ghazala Khan and Ms. Zubaida Hassan very dedicated Executive Members are performing the hostel management responsibilities in a vigilant and active manner. Wardens and office staff regularly monitor the annual and monthly maintenance reports of the hostels.
